On August 31, 1997, Diana Spencer was involved in a tragic road accident that resulted from dangerous driving. The car the crew was driving, a Mercedes-Benz W140 S-Class, entered the Pont de L'Alma tunnel at 110km/h, over twice the speed limit in the tunnel.

Diana Spencer was born on July 1, 1961, in Park House Sandringham, Norfolk, England. She was born to her mother, Frances Roche and father, John Spencer, 8th Earl Spencer. Diana worked as a nursery teacher's assistant before getting engaged to Prince Charles.

• Diana and Prince Charles would sire Prince William and Harry before getting divorced in 1996. Unfortunately, multiple affairs by both parties rocked the marriage and drove the two further apart.

• On August 31, 1997, Diana Spencer was driving in the company of Dodi Fayed, Henri Paul and Trevor Rees Jones. They were going at high speeds to evade the paparazzi.

• The driver Henri Paul was driving the rented Mercedes-Benz W140 S-Class, a decoy to evade the paparazzi. It would later be discovered that Henri was under the influence of several drugs at the time of the accident.

• Reports suggest that none of the passengers was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash at the entrance of the Pont de L'Alma tunnel. Diana made it to the hospital but later died at 3:00 am.

• All other occupants were pronounced dead at the scene except for Trevor Rees Jones.
